New timetable: Westbahn increased intervals between Vienna and Salzburg – Austria
From June 12, the Westbahn will be on the road every half hour between Vienna and Salzburg. The timetable change is a response to an increase in passengers.
The Westbahn will be offering an even denser timetable between Vienna and Salzburg from next Sunday. In the future, the Westbahn will travel this route up to 57 times a day.
Westbahn runs every half hour between Vienna and Salzburg
The most important changes from Sunday, June 12 at a glance:
- There is a continuous 30-minute clock (with only 3 clock gaps around noon)
- All trains run at the same speed (trains from Vienna Westbahnhof with the previous departure minute 06 now only start at minute 10, which means a travel time reduction of 4 minutes).
- The clock node Amstetten is served exclusively by the Westbahn (and no longer by the ÖBB).
From August 2nd there will also be another change in the timetable: the Westbahn will then run up to six times a day in each direction between Vienna and Munich.
