City of Salzburg – Month of Diversity 2022
We celebrate diversity – Salzburg in colorful June
The Diversity Team of the City of Salzburg started the “Month of Diversity” with an exciting start on the topic “Inter*Pride”. More than 15 free events and a “end of school extra” await guests until July 8, 2022. Social diversity in the city of Salzburg is being celebrated for the ninth time. There is also another focus on the topic of protection against violence. The #violence-free city is the focus of an exhibition in the Wolf-Dietrich-Halle in Mirabell Palace. “People are shown who take a clear stand against violence and are committed to it,” says city councilor Anja Hagenauer, who is responsible for the department. In line with the focus, there will be the “Gewalt-loos” cabaret on June 14th with the artist Aida Loos – known from the Ö3-Wecker – in the Stadt:Galerie in Lehen. As well as the art talk “The Second Look” with Agnes Menapace from the women’s emergency hotline and Elisabeth Simm-Herzog from the Violence Protection Center. “Together with many partners, we want to set an example for diversity and against violence,” Anja Hagenauer continues. “Belonging should not be an empty word in Salzburg. There are also events in which the topic of diversity in the city is examined critically but also very entertainingly. The aim is to show how much potential there is in diversity and how much common ground can arise from it.” “There is also a comprehensive offer for school classes with its own ‘end of school extra’”, says Eva Spießberger, head of the “Team Diversity”. City of Salzburg. Graffiti workshops are offered, as well as workshops on the subject of self-defence and de-escalation, a hip-hop special for small groups or a film for students aged 16 and over with a discussion on the topic “Let’s talk about sex” in the oval in the Europark.
