Cherry, competition exhibition at the Covered Market in Campagna Amica Verona.
At the cherry from the Veronese Hills is dedicated Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June the exhibition-competition in the Birolli room at the Covered Market of Campagna Amica in the Filippini Gallery. The appointment is from 8.30 to 13.
On Saturday at 11 at the Covered Market the technical commission for the evaluation of the organoleptic qualities of the fruit will meet and on Sunday at 11 the awards ceremony will be held in the presence of the authorities.
At the competition exhibition, now in its 28th edition, participants in farms that cultivate cherries from the Veronese hills and Val D’Alpone. The fruits belonging to the three varietal groups will be awarded: Mora di Verona, Duroni and Mixed varieties through a technical jury that will detect the organoleptic qualities that distinguish and can pass the Cherry of our provincial territories.
The area of the Veneto cherry groves is approximately 1,968 hectares with most of the plants concentrated for approximately 77% in the province of Verona (1,510 hectares).
