“It’s time to get down to business on counterterrorism”
“It’s time to get down to business with terror protection in Innsbruck. Last Tuesday, during the city forum, an interim report on the security bollards in Maria-Theresien-Strasse and the old town was presented,” reports Innsbruck FPÖ Deputy Mayor Markus Lassenberger in a broadcast.
“Just at the right time after yesterday’s terrible event in Berlin. You can see that something has to be done very quickly now and things have to be nailed down. The applications of the FPÖ, which go back to 2017 and were decided, are finally being implemented, ”concretizes Lassenberger.
Counter-terrorism is essential to protect the population and our guests and, as you can see, is urgent. “Tumbling around”, as the Innsbruck Greens would like to do and have tried again, is out of place here. There are proposals on the table, only the draft resolution for implementation is missing,” notes the FPÖ deputy mayor, who is now setting a deadline for the green mayor Georg Willi. “The mayor is now being asked, in accordance with the decision of the city senate, to submit an act ready for a vote to the municipal council by July 14, 2022. I’m assuming that based on recent events, everyone must have realized that it’s five minutes to twelve when it comes to countering terrorism,” Lassenberger concludes.
