In San Marino the 1st European Taekwondo Union Small States Championships 2022
It will be held in San Marino from 18 to 19 June next at the Multieventi Sport Domus in Serravalle The 1st European Taekwondo Union Small States Championships (G-2).
It is a new tournament whose concept was conceived by President of the WT World Federation, Mr. Chungwon Choue during his visit to San Marino in June 2019.
As the Club Taekwondo San Marino, it was a historic visit that recognized the great success of the San Marino company: in the 32 years since its foundation has won many trophies (262), becoming the San Marino sports club with the most medal ever. “Amazing results – underlines the company – if you think that the Club has only 90 members and is the only one present where this martial art can be practiced”.
On June 14, 2019, the President Chouaccompanied by Dr. Marco Ienna (Director of the Lausanne Office CIO) was welcomed by Gian Primo GiardiCONS President and the Secretary General Eros Bolognain the presence of the FESAM Presidents Maurizio Mazza and TSM Giovanni Ugolinias well as by the NADO Manager for San Marino Dr. Claudio Muccioli.
There was born the proposal of found a new organization for the small states onlyunder the supervision of WTE (World Taekwondo Europe and its President Sakis Pragalos): the Small States Taekwondo Union (SSTU), with the task of permanently including this Olympic discipline in the Games of the Small States of Europe, which take place every 2 years.
They have joined: Andorra, Cyprus, Iceland, Isle of Man, Luxembourg, Malta, Monk, Montenegro, San Marinothe Faroe Islands And Vatican CITY.
Now that idea will become reality in 10 days thanks to the organizational, logistical and financial support of the Olympic Committee and the Martial Arts Federation. This competition was elevated by the WTE to the rank of G-2 (i.e. 20 points in the world ranking for the winner of each category).
The club therefore thanks “athletes among Cadets, Junior and Senior equipped with electronic bodices and helmets, on the tatami set up in collaboration with the FITA (Italian Taekwondo Federation) “.
All the San Marino Taekwondo Club with the Masters Technical and Sports Directors Chung Kwang Soo And Young Ghil Park (both 9th dan), his Masters and Students, expresses gratitude “for the fundamental help of all, he is working hard to reach this goal”.
