Qatar (24) flashed eleven times in five days!
The cantonal police in Vaud took the same driver eleven times in five days for not speeding properly.
In the canton of Vaud, a driver was flashed eleven times in five days for not speeding appropriately. The 24-year-old Qatari was twice guilty of speeding offenses while passing through.
The eleven speeding violations were found between May 20th and 24th on the A1 motorway between Lausanne and Geneva, but also in the Vaud town of Clarens, according to the cantonal police of Vaud.
215 instead of 120 km/h
On May 23, according to the police, the speeder was on the A1 between Nyon and Geneva at around 2:55 a.m. at a speed of 215 kilometers per hour (km/h) instead of the permitted 120 km/h. The next night the same car was flashed by a radar at a speed of 180 km/h instead of the 80 km/h allowed for a construction zone.
Due to the radar evaluations and further investigations, the driver, a 24-year-old Qatari, who may have been arrested while passing through. He was heard by the police in the presence of a public defender. It also emerged that he started two other speeding offenses in the canton of Geneva and one in the canton of Aargau.
Automatically confiscated
Criminal proceedings have been opened against the man. His vehicle was confiscated.
A speeding offense is punished with a prison sentence of one to four years and a driver’s license suspension of at least two years, as the police recall. (SDA/noo)
