A twinning between two fairs and also between two cities, the one that the Councilor for productive activities and tourism Alessandro Ferrara, has stipulated in recent days with the Secretary of State for Tourism of the Republic of San Marino Federico Pedini Amati. A twinning made possible thanks to two events that are of great tourist attraction for the two cities. We are talking about the Rediscovered Crucifix Fair and the Medieval Days of San Marino. A twinning which, as Councilor Ferrara himself announces, “will start already this year. On July 28th, on the occasion of the Medieval Days of San Marino, Salerno will be present with the Crucifix Fair, not the whole event, but part of the Salerno event will find space in the streets of the Republic of San Marino. And the same will be here in April 2023, as part of the 31st edition of the Crucifix Fair, we will host part of the Medieval Days of San Marino ”. Ferrara explains that this agreement will have a great return in terms of tourist presences for our city. “Tour operators will now have the opportunity to sell a tour package to two cities offering two events focused on the Middle Ages. This means that we will have a promotion of our major city and the possibility of having many more tourists in Salerno, both during the Natella family’s Crucifix and also in other periods “. The agreement comes after the visit of the Secretary of State for Tourism of the Republic of San Marino Federico Pedini Amati, in our city who follows the contacts established in recent months on the occasion of national and international tourist events, with a view to a relationship of collaboration aimed at creating an incoming channel between the two realities. For this purpose, contacts have been activated between tour operators from Salerno and San Marino, which will continue with meetings and workshops over the weeks and months. In particular, it has been hypothesized to “ideally” unite the medieval re-enactment events of the two cities, as well as a symbolic twinning between the Piazza della Libertà located in front of the Government Palace of the Republic of San Marino and the new Piazza della Libertà on the city waterfront of Salerno. Also during the visit of the Secretary of State for Tourism of the Republic of San Marino Federico Pedini Amati to the city of Salerno, a meeting was also scheduled with the President of Federalberghi Salerno, Engineer Antonio Ilardi, and Dr. Annarita Colasante, coordinator of the office territorial of Confcommercio Campania. On the occasion, concrete initiatives were shared for the enhancement of cultural tourism towards San Marino and the province of Salerno, with the aim of emphasizing the medieval splendor of the two sites, renewed every year by important events it recalls. A promotional workshop has also been scheduled for next October in the province of Salerno, which will be attended by the major tour operators operating on the Italian market and based in the Republic of Titano, dedicated to group tourism and educational trips. “We are particularly pleased to have the support of this institutional visit, to which we immediately gave an operational and constructive contribution” – declared, on that occasion the President of Federalberghi Salerno, also adding that “We will continue the work of promoting the tourism excellence in our province, placing ourselves at the disposal of public bodies who want, with their action, to promote development and employment in the province of Salerno “
