Johannes Köster plays Fear of the Doctors in Cologne with Adam
Drummer from the Eifel

Special live return: heat up in front of 50,000 spectators in Cologne
Cologne What a drummer from Eifel experienced at the medical show in the Cologne stadium.
Bands from the region were not on the program at Rock am Ring this year. The drummer Johannes Koster, who lives in Darscheid near Daun, would otherwise have had a very short journey – but even without a Ring order, the musicians from Trier and his band Adam Angst were celebrated by tens of thousands of spectators on Saturday evening.
Adam Angst was the only support at the doctors’ sold-out show in Cologne’s RheinEnergieStadion.
On Monday morning, Johannes Koster was “still a bit exhausted and still euphoric. We celebrated a long time afterwards and everything is just sinking,” reports Joe Koster. He had had to do without the live feeling with his band for almost two and a half years: “The last concert before the pandemic was in December 2019. A week ago we continued to play the first concert in the Luxor – in preparation for the doctors’ show. And she was crazy.”
An open air in front of 50,000 people, “and hardly any masks – as if nothing had happened. But the respectful interaction was nicer. Everyone, really everyone had fun and enjoyed it. That was really good.” Johannes Koster also played with Adam Angst at Rock am Ring in 2019 – on the second largest stage, which was then still called the Alterna Stage (this year it was called the Mandora Stage).
The doctors play over three dozen songs as part of their “Buffalo Bill in Rome” tour. Bela, Farin and Rod have invited several “favorite bands” to support the tour – including “Pascow” for the shows in Thun (Switzerland) and Heilbronn.
A musician from the region will also be drumming there: Oliver Thomé, who is the managing director of Popp Concerts in his main job. Pascow will also play in the support act for the Toten Hosen’s anniversary tour in the summer, for example in Kassel. The doctors end their big tour in the region – on September 17th they play at the Festwiese am Bostalsee (sold out).
