Beyond this very large-scale competition, the Parisian Major will also be a unique opportunity to enjoy the Roland-Garros stadium in a unique, friendly and festive atmosphere. On the program, entertainment with a DJ, petanque, a summer terrace but also the possibility of discovering the practice with qualified teachers. All for a very attractive price because the tickets cost between 15€ and 50€.
Gilles Moretton, President of the French Tennis Federation: ” The FFT is very happy with the emergence of padel. Director of the Padel mission for a little over a year, Arnaud Di Pasquale has accepted the mission of director of the Parisian Major. We want to develop the infrastructure, and I believe that hosting such an event here will allow us to increase interest in this practice. The high level is a vector of discovery and emotion. If we want to develop the practice in France, we have to organize a big event, a fortiori in a setting such as the Roland-Garros stadium. It’s a chance to see a very, very high level. »
Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation: “ Today is a dream come true. As soon as Gilles Moretton was elected, I wanted to listen to his ideas for the development of Padel. One of the first things the president told me was that he wanted to organize the most important Padel tournament in the world in the Roland-Garros stadium. We had this desire to create something important. To be here for a young sport like ours is really extraordinary. It is a privilege to be here. I want to ask the FFT, its president and Arnaud Di Pasquale for this gift and the work done for a year. I assure you that within two years, France will be a huge padel nation. »
Arnaud Di Pasquale, director of Greenweez Paris Premier Padel Major: “ It’s a fun, accessible and friendly sport. The pleasure is immediate. We had to be adventurous because the growth is exceptional (+25% in terms of tracks and clubs). Tennis at its Grand Slam with Roland-Garros, so it was obvious that padel was also its Major with the G3PM. We are delighted, I am very proud to take on this responsibility. This tournament will bring together the 56 best pairs in the world. There will be a track on the Philippe-Chatrier court with a capacity of 8,000 people. All tickets will give access to this court. It’s also a unique Roland-Garros experience to enjoy, in a very friendly, warm and fun atmosphere. »
