‘Revolta’ hits theaters: Traição and arrived in Lisbon apartment
Four people inside an apartment – Two women and two men. Everyone hides secrets, everyone lies, and between them a betrayal is hidden and a change is being prepared. Shot in the midst of a pandemic, ‘Revolta’ – which premieres this Thursday – is, as a play, a drama that unfolds in a single space – an apartment in Jardim da Estrela, in Lisbon – and where, over the course of an intense night, the masks fall.
It is also the directorial debut of Tiago R. Santos, as a screenwriter for films ‘Call Girl’ and series such as ‘Liberdade 21’. “It was very intense”, admits the creator to CM. “Every three days they weren’t tested in the morning, but they were confirmed on 12 positive days, without remembering the morning dates, which is easier to control the noise around.”
Produced by Tino Navarro, the work cost “about 200 thousand euros” and the director considers the result satisfactory. “It matches exactly what I wanted,” he says. The cast includes Teresa Tavares, Margarida Vila-Nova, Cristóvão Campos and Ricardo Pereira. “They’ve known each other for two decades, so the chemistry and connections I used to create were already there”, he concludes.
