In Pisa at the Oriente restaurant the oriental games of Go, Chinese Chess and Majang are presented
The EOE association together with the Confucius Institute of Pisa, on 7 June, on the occasion of the Dragon Boats Festival, will present at the Oriente restaurant (in via C. Salomone 66 in Pisa), the oriental games of Go, Chess Chinese and Majang, and the philosophy behind their practice.
These two games have a long tradition of more than 2000 years and in recent years they have spread from East Asia to the rest of the world, gaining increasing popularity; they are games with simple rules but very complex strategically and therefore very fascinating.
Just as it was for the game of chess twenty years ago, the Go is now used as a yardstick for the latest advances in the field of artificial intelligence; Google’s AlphaGo program in fact, in 2016, was able to play a game with the player to play Lee Sedol, one of the greatest players in the world and through the help of deep neurons is able to beat him. A moment that marked an era.
The EOE association aims to personally participate in and schools of every shared order and degree present in our territory, objectives with the partner of the event Istituto Confucius of Pisa, which prompted the two associations to collaborate with a already launched calendar of initiatives aimed at integration and cultural exchange through recreational and training activities just like this one.
This event aims to offer itself as an opportunity for local Chinese identity recognition, also having an impact on families who in this way have the opportunity to have their own culture recognized and valued.
At the event; everything will take place starting at 10; the children will be shown the games by the volunteers of the sector associations and then they will be offered a snack where they can taste the traditional Zongzi, rice triangles typical of the Dragon Boat Festival.
