An early goal from Jan Kuchta and a second-half own goal gave the Czech Republic a 2-1 win over Switzerland on Thursday in an entertaining Nations League group game in which both sides created plenty of chances.
Kuchta opened the scoring in the 11th minute when the striker capitalized on a defensive error after a long throw-in to score his first international goal.

Noah Okafor equalized for the visitors just before half-time after pouncing on a loose ball in the penalty area and slamming a shot from under the bar into the corner of the net from close range.
Both teams attacked throughout the game and the home side missed two golden opportunities after the break when Adam Hlozek was able to smash a shot with just the keeper Vladimir Coufal hit the post with a long-range shot.
The Czechs’ efforts paid off in the 58th minute when Jakub Jankto deflected a cross from Swiss midfielder Djibril Sow into the net.
Switzerland pushed for the equalizer and forced the Czech keeper Tomas Vaclik into a series of close-range saves to ensure victory for the Czechs.
