“Bulls”: an average of 12,500 at home games
Sports
Series champions Red Bull Salzburg drew an average of 12,500 spectators at Bundesliga home games last season. Meanwhile, according to the “Salzburger Nachrichten”, Champions League finalists FC Liverpool should come to Klessheim for a test match.
However, there is no official confirmation from the club itself. It is said that a test match with a “prominent opponent” is currently being negotiated. The English and their coach Jürgen Klopp are doing a training camp on the Brandlhof pitches in Saalfelden and could even play in Salzburg.
For Salzburg it would be the fourth duel with Liverpool: In the 2019 Champions League group stage there were two defeats with 3: 4 and 0: 2, in the friendly match in 2020 the Austrian champions still drew 2: 2.
More visitors only came to Rapid’s home games
The official viewer statistics, which the Bundesliga has now published, are encouraging. According to this, Salzburg recorded an average of around 12,500 visitors at the Bundesliga home games.
In the rest of the league it was only around 7,000. Only Rapid Vienna had more fans than Salzburg, while WSG Tirol had the fewest spectators. Overall, the number of viewers was also increased compared to the last “non-Corona year”, by almost 15 percent.
