Roadshow Switzerland in the UK is getting ready to go!

Following the announcement by President Ignazio Cassis and Prime Minister Boris Johnson that Switzerland and the UK will start work on a new one Swiss Business Hub UK + Ireland announced today that it will hold the Switzerland in the UK roadshow from 6June to July 1st. Consisting of a series of five events in key UK economic and political hubs, the tour will focus on advancing collaboration and trade in key technology and service areas in which both countries are recognized world leaders – life sciences, robotics, space technology, medical technology and cleantech.
The program focuses on Switzerland as an innovative force and involves working with Swiss exporters, associations, clusters, decision makers/politicians, Swiss and UK government agencies, innovation communities, academics and industry experts.

Registration for the events is now possible here and closes on June 24th. The format includes an afternoon seminar and a networking event in the evening. Representatives of the press are cordially invited to attend the afternoon seminar.
Natalie Thomas, Head of Swiss Business Hub UK + Ireland, commented: “We are delighted to launch this important event series with established Swiss companies as well as start-ups and academic and research partnerships. Personal encounters and new encounters with important players from business, science, culture and politics will strengthen relations and promote cooperation between our two nations.”
The Edinburgh event on 8 June will focus on the important issue of how space technology can be used in a sustainable way to help protect the environment, with subject matter experts including Space Office Switzerland, UK Space Agency, Spire, Swiss Exchange, ClearSpace, Satellite Finance Network, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Development International and Space Scotland. Markus Leitner, Ambassador of Switzerland to the UK, and Ivan McKee, Scottish Minister for Business, Trade, Tourism and Enterprise will deliver opening remarks at the event, organized in partnership with the University of Edinburgh and AstroAgency.
Daniel Smith, Founder of AstroAgency and Director of Space Scotland, said: “We expect this to be a great event that will lay a strong foundation for further engagement. Both Scotland and Switzerland want to tackle the issue of space sustainability head on, but there is no doubt that by sharing knowledge, ideas and working together we will be in a stronger position to achieve tangible results that go beyond discussion and meaningful action “.
