Munich customers disappointed: tank discount? Because great!
Munich – There’s a little more going on, says an employee at a gas station in the north of Munich. But not that much either. Nobody who works at the city’s gas stations wants to speak openly. But during the AZ foray through the city, it becomes clear: the big run on the petrol pumps didn’t materialize on Wednesday. Despite a price saving of around 30 cents thanks to the nationwide fuel discount.
Because refueling is still expensive: a liter of Super cost between 1.85 and 1.92 at the Munich pumps. Drivers had to pay between 1.91 and 1.96 for a liter of diesel on Wednesday.
“Do something about collusion”
Retired engine driver Hans-Jürgen Grimm (63): “I happen to be there to fill up because I have a longer tour planned. The prices today are 30 cents cheaper, but I think it’s still more expensive. It’s good that politicians are spending money to make lower prices possible. But something still needs to be done to combat cartel formation and price fixing. It’s painful how expensive refueling still is.”
“I drive less often”
Driver Nuciano Nondelli (65): “I filled up with super and it’s 30 cents cheaper than the day before. I filled up because it’s cheaper. Because of the high fuel prices, I drive less than usual. I’m about to retire. But I know that it is very bad for many companies and companies that the prices are so high.”
“Fierce How Expensive It Is”
Specialist salesman Kapi Gnanasegaram (21): “It’s really tough to fill up. I’m filling up now because it’s a bit cheaper since June 1st. But the prices are still far too high, which is bitter. I think it’s the aftermath of Putin’s war of aggression.”
“Still too much”
Supplier Aboud Al Hamad (31): “Refueling is still far too expensive. I get 0.30 euros per kilometer driven and then have to pay quite high prices for refueling, that’s hard. Prices are a bit cheaper these days, and it’s good that prices have gone down a bit.
“No discount”
Small business owner Bernd Schönauer (52): “It’s a made price increase. I fill up with diesel and I don’t see anything about a discount today. I don’t think the end customers really notice anything about the political measures. It would be good to keep prices affordable. I actually feel betrayed. A good year ago in March the fuel price was still 99 cents, now I quickly have to pay two euros.
