Business Park Puch-Urstein is booming – salzburg.ORF.at
One new building follows the next, commercial space is in short supply and demand is high. Initially there was little interest in the commercial space, but now the proximity to the city of Salzburg and the motorway are attracting businesses.
The Liebherr company is currently building offices and assembly halls. Bars, offices and an event hall are being built in a new building complex. 2021 was the start of construction for several construction projects. Three quarters of the 2,000 jobs in the municipality of Puch are in the business park, emphasizes Mayor Helmut Klose (ÖVP).
Mayor: “It was difficult at the beginning”
“It was difficult at the beginning – good infrastructure and connection to the major road network through the Tauernautobahn. In the beginning it probably failed because of the basic price, but now you hardly get any more business premises. And the base price is of course a factor in every investment,” says Klose.
The building site in the commercial area costs around 400 euros per square meter. In other communities around the city of Salzburg, the prices are significantly higher, adds Klose.
Many companies work together with the FH
The companies that settle in Puch-Urstein often work together with the technical college (FH) in Puch, there are IT and software cooperations. Space is in demand – companies like ANP Systems, where anchors – for example for slope stabilization – are produced, additional space, confirms Managing Director Harald Fuschelberger.
“It was a big problem for us to manage this investment. There is hardly any commercial space available in the Salzburg area. That’s what prompted us to invest in Puch-Urstein,” says Fuschelberger.
“You also have burdens, but the taxes flow”
Around 500 new jobs will be created in the coming years on the commercial sites in Puch-Urstein alone – and that will bring additional tax revenue for the Puch community, the mayor is pleased to say. “The community is not left with all of that. It may look nice on the outside, but you also have a burden. The other side is, of course, that if you need something for childcare, for example, you don’t have to go into debt again straight away, but can finance it freely.”
According to the community, it is a great advantage that the inhabited areas are far away from the business park. All areas have now been allocated.
Business Park Puch-Urstein is booming
There is currently a construction boom in the Puch-Urstein business park (Tennengau). The start almost 20 years ago was rather sluggish, but now all the space has been sold.
