Belarus is in no hurry to switch to African energy – Belarusian Oil
MINSK, June 1 – PrimePress. Belarus does not intend to abruptly switch to renewable energy, even despite the limited reserves of hydrocarbons in the country. This was stated by the General Director of the Belorusneft company Alexander Lyakhov during the international technological forum “Innovative technologies for subsoil use – the basis of the economy of the future”, reports prime agency.
“Despite the fact that the Republic of Belarus is absorbing limited reserves of hydrocarbon raw materials, nevertheless, our country is in no hurry … to move towards adapting the energy transition,” the agency quotes Lyakhov as saying.
The head of Belorusneft explains that for such an energy transition it is necessary to look at how transport technologies will be, look for a balance of interests and take justified steps in this economic implementation.
“Today we see that the pace that is declared on the energy transition, perhaps, has been increased, politicized, and we see that at present the main sources are still for the development of mankind,” Lyakhov said.
PA “Belorusskaya Neft” (Rechitsa, Gomel region) was established in 1966, it is specially engaged in the search, exploration and development of oil fields, the production of oil and associated petroleum gas, it is engaged in oil services outside of Belarus – in Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela and Ecuador. Belarusian Oil is also engaged in tolling deliveries of imported oil to Belarusian refineries. The association sells produced petroleum products through a network of filling stations and trade organizations, which is the largest in the country, and also exports them.
