The Mona Lisa tarted in the Louvre by a man disguised as a woman
The window of the Mona Lisa soiled by a piece of cake thrown by a visitor: the incident took place on Sunday at the Louvre Museum in Paris. It was filmed by dozens of people and went viral on the internet. This Monday morning, the Paris prosecutor’s office confirms to France Bleu Paris the opening of an investigation for attempted damage to cultural property.

The author of this entry is a visitor. The 36-year-old man disguised as a woman pretended to be disabled in a wheelchair. Once arrived in front of the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci, the man got up and threw a piece of cake on the window of the box which protects the Mona Lisa.
On Twitter, a video shows the man standing next to his wheelchair and being escorted out by security. “There are people who are destroying the Earth (…) All artists, think of the Earth. That’s why I did this. think about the planete”says, in French, the man dressed in white, wig and cap on his head.
An investigation is opened for attempted damage to cultural property
The man was taken to the police station in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. He was admitted in the evening to the psychiatric infirmary of the police headquartersindicates the floor.
