Pisa, the disappointment of the next day. But the Serie A dream is only postponed – Sport
Pisa, 30 May 2022 – The next day is even worse: when, by now the adrenaline has subsided, the analysis becomes more lucid and the delusion it materializes in its complete essence. There remains the meager consolation that frustration cannot mature into anger in any way: the only responsible, but clearly the exercise becomes useless and even harmful, is Destiny.
The Pisa tried. Indeed, Pisa – city and team – did everything to tattoo Serie A in their hearts. An entire population accompanied the Nerazzurri colors, leaving lungs and souls at the Arena. It wasn’t enough, for how long? For a whisker? On a whim of the balloon god? For what reason? You tell it. And now? In reality there is nothing and much pending. It will take some time to rearrange the ideas. After all, we’ve been completely absorbed in this for months exhilarating ride towards the coveted promotion. The first place in December, the substantial market operated in January, the direct clashes of spring. And then the playoffs experienced as a World Cup final. To some extent, the aftermath is never intended to be thought of in too concrete terms. The after was yesterday.
Solo the technician D’Angelo he had pointed to the future. Consequently, it seems right to start again from this promise: “Serie A? – he said in the last press conference -. If it isn’t now, it will be soon. With this club it’s only a matter of time “. Let’s take this commitment literally, with rationality. Serie B next year will be very complicated: in Genoa, Cagliari, Bari, Venice and the “usual” Parma, Brescia and Spal. However, Pisa has the great advantage of not having to rebuild or start from scratch. The reconfirmation of D’Angelo, which appears more than likely (again according to the words of the technician) is the first stone on which to put the entire building back on its feet. The streets of the market, to date inscrutable, they will tell us the rest. On the plate, there is the reconfirmation of Puscas, Torregrossa and Benali: all on loan. But also the fate of Beruatto and the legitimate ambitions of Marin and (perhaps) of Lucca. Finally, there remains the unknown Corrado. The general manager, Giovanni, entrusted the press with enigmatic statements: “It has been five important years and I will take some time. Today there is a Pisa to escape from people. If one day I no longer have to be there, this club has in any case been able to build a base to move forward over time and continue ”.
A new chapter, a new page. The next day is worse, but tomorrow will (hopefully) smile back at us.
