It will close on Sunday June 5th Archaeo. Mozart Labyrinth – immersive installation of Damiano Michieletto with Ocinaspecial project ofHistorical Archive of Contemporary Arts (ASAC) – which has been since February 18 visited by 13,000 people a Forte Marghera (Building 29, Venezia Mestre, free admission with reservations required on www.labiennale.org, 11 am-7pm, closed on Mondays (except May 30).
Archaeo. Mozart Labyrinth has exerted a great attraction on audiences and critics, for the ability to express a dialogue between the arts and artistic craftswhere the musical theatricality and the fantastic atmosphere of the Magic Flute from Mozart contemporary aesthetic forms. In the comments of the public and the press, there is a strong sense of fascination that was able to instill in visitors the journey of Tamino and his beloved Pamina to the discovery of light, truth and wisdom, as represented in Archaeo, that is, as an initiatory journey in five stages, in which one passes from darkness to light. Inspired by the Magic Flute from Mozartwhose protagonists make an initiatory journey from darkness to light, Archaeo it also wants to be a metaphor for that research activity which takes place through the documents of the archives.
The installation provides five rooms joined by five dark tunnels in which sound sources are located. These reproduce excerpts from the Magic Flute made at La Fenice Theater in 2015 with the direction of Michieletto and the musical direction of Antonello Manacorda. Archaeo it is also made in collaboration with the artistic laboratory Baburka production of Rome, in special effects for cinema and creation of hyper-realistic statues, edited by Leonardo Cruciano.
Archaeo. Mozart Labyrinth enrolled in new path from dialogue between the arts that the Biennale has undertaken with The restless muses. The Venice Biennale in the face of history realized in 2020 at the Giardini with i archival documentsto offer high quality cultural events throughout the year to an ever wider audience.
Archaeo. Mozart Labyrinth intends to celebrate i 1600 years of the City of Venice and is made by Biennial in collaboration with the La Fenice Theater and with the contribution of Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.
The installation is also open on the occasion of the 13. International Children’s Carnival of the Biennale (Ca ‘Giustinian, 19 – 27 February 2022) and will continue in Forte Marghera until the June 5, 2022close to the beginning of Theater and Dance Festival and simultaneously with the first months of the opening of the 59. International Art Exhibition.
