City of Salzburg – Don’t let up on the protection of children
After the suspected case of an assault in a Salzburg toddler group that became known last week, the parent information evening is taking place today. The operator of the toddler group – the Red Cross – had learned from the parents about the suspected case, which is said to have occurred in autumn 2021. A similar case had previously been reported in a facility in Vienna. Reason enough for the city to refer to existing protection facilities and existing offers of help again.
New edition of the anti-violence campaign with Kids-Line
As a first measure, the city of Salzburg WILL bring forward the new edition of the anti-violence campaign – keyword emojis. In the second wave of posters, the focus this time is on cooperation with the project partners of the #violencefreecity. The Kids-Line hotline can therefore be found on the posters. Under 0800 234 123 children and young people receive free and unbureaucratic advice and help. The poster campaign will be reposted from mid-June.
“The current cases show that we must not let up when it comes to protecting children. Breaking taboos, talking about it and protecting children from abuse is the only way to not leave children alone in terrible situations,” says the responsible city councilor Anja Hagenauer.
