Embracer Game Archive started by Embracer Group in Sweden
This is a good time to preserve.
Embracer Game Archive has been established in Sweden, with Embracer Group commissioned by the center to collect “all physical video games, consoles and accessories” in one place.
“I have been given the honorable task of leading the work of building this unique player archive”, it says to read a new web page written by CEO of Embracer Games Archive, David Boström.
“Imagine a place where all the physical video games, consoles and accessories are gathered in one place. And think about how much it can mean for the gaming culture and enable research on video games. This journey has just begun and we are at an early stage. But already now we have a large collection to take care of in the Embracer Games Archive’s premises in Karlstad, Sweden.
“A team of experts has been recruited and will begin building the foundation for the archive. At the Embracer Games Archive, we believe that games carry a legacy that is worth celebrating and cherishing for the future. Our goal is clear – we want to archive and save as much of the video game industry as possible. ”
The archive already has 50,000 games, consoles and accessories and is working to build and catalog these objects. The archive is also looking for more to add to their collection.
