The scam of registrations, cars ‘bought’ in San Marino to pay less VAT: 25 complaints
To get around the taxman they had falsely attested that their vehicles had all been purchased in the Republic of San Marino where the VAT is paid in an amount of 8% and, only thanks to fiscal accordion with the Italian State, there is no payment in our country, against the correspondence of 22% VAT for any other vehicle purchased abroad.
The State Police, through the agents of the Department of Police Campania-Basilicata and in synergy with the Motorization of Naples, unearthed a sensational crook to the detriment of the state. The painstaking investigation of the policemen has allowed us to define well 27 vehiclesamong which Suv of great value and sedans, and to report 25 people for fraud and false attestation.
The policemen ascertained that the vehicles subject to the scam all had false documentation and, many of them, were from the Germany.
