– It was for personal gain – NRK Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country
On Monday, the 26-year-old rapper Cezinando appeared in Oslo District Court in a so-called confession case. The audience benches in the district court were full of a young audience and press.
The artist is charged with five pieces of furniture for around 380,000. According to defense counsel Mette Yvonne Larsen, the claim for compensation against him has now been greatly reduced after many pieces of furniture have been returned.
According to Cezinando, it was he who took the initiative to return some of the furniture.
– I look back on this with remorse. I’m glad I got the opportunity to return things in collaboration with the police. It recovered some of the damage, Cezinando told the court on Monday.
The artist pleads guilty to the thefts. Defender Mette Yvonne Larsen believes that 30 hours of community service is appropriate in this case. The compensation amount is estimated at 16,000 kroner, according to the defender. The rapper said he was willing to pay.
– It is neither violence nor individuals who are injured. There are professional companies that have of course suffered a disadvantage and injury, but Cezinando Karlsen is a young offender – completely unpunished. Not even fines, she said in court.
– I think a prison sentence will be very burdensome for him, based on his situation, she added.
Repentant offender
Yvonne Larsen believes that these were impulsive actions in a Cezinando’s life – over a short period of time.
– You can not get closer to a repentant offender than Karlsen is today, Larsen said.
In July last year, the police arrested and charged several people with a number of serious thefts of designer furniture and luxury items.
The police linked to at least 18 different conditions in the Oslo area.
Values worth several hundred thousand kroner had been stolen. Cezinando is charged with five of these thefts – with a value of around 380,000 kroner.
– Why did you take the chairs, Judge Helen Sekulic asked.
“Unfortunately, I do not want to answer that,” Cezinando replied.
– What was the reason for you removing the chairs?
– It was for his own gain, yes, he replied.
