High-speed infrastructure to the Government Infraestruturas de Portugal to anticipate connection to Porto airport
Infraestrutura Portugal (IP) will serve high-speed, the Government that the second arrival train earlier than scheduled to arrive at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, said this President, Carlos Fernandes.

The vice president of IP today spoke at the Portugal Railway Summit 2022, which takes place at the Porto de Leixões cruise terminal, in Matosinhos, in the Porto district.
The anticipation proposal is related to the possible availability of funds from the postponement of investment in the connection to Oriente station, in Lisbon.

According to Carlos Fernandes, the two or three minutes of travel lost with the failure to carry out this work to Lisbon made it possible to allocate funds for the connection to Francisco Sá Carneiro airport, in Maia, which serves Porto, the North of the country and Galicia.

The airport was planned for the connection in Vigo in a pre-planned phase to Vigo.
Carlos Fernandes also confirmed that “a new station in Gaia is being studied, but it is already planned, which will be the first station in the Porto Metropolitan Area”.

According to Carlos Fernandes, “people will get off at that first station in Gaia after the train goes, then, to Campanhã”, in Porto.
