“From the Adige to the districts, commerce and tourism”
Investing in Verona, on its river, the Adige, and Veronese commercial activities to rediscover some areas of the city that expect to be enhanced and new attractions to reinforce the tourist offer. Starting from an initiative that involves two strategic sectors for Verona, such as commerce and tourism, but also from giving more and more attention to the neighborhoods, all the projects for the city conceived by the former councilor for commerce and urban furniture Nicolò Zavarise: a package of initiatives that start from “Verona discovers its river” and from the desire to enhance some still hidden areas of Verona, with dual commercial benefits for neighborhoods and activities.
“An urban planning proposal that touches the banks of the Adige and which aims not only to improve the livability of our neighborhoods, but also the offer of some internal city areas that can thus become real tourist areas, bringing advantages also to the activities of the territory . – explains Zavarise – A path that will bring Verona on a par with the great European river cities, which will complement the wide tourist offer already present and may new urban spaces in a unique context in the world ».
The project illustrated by Zavarise should develop according to three thematic areas: relaxation areas, urban furnishings and environmental average. The relaxation areas have dedicated spaces and the installation of new playgrounds and thematic structures dedicated to families and children. The street furniture will be interactive with smart and green solutions, and through charging points, wi-fi and bike sharing it will be possible to experience the nature and landscape of the Adige by interconnecting with the world. The environmental average instead they are structures and artistic installations that will have the purpose of connecting the river to the city with an eye to the future but with attention to the past and to the artistic and cultural history of Verona.
«The difficult period of the pandemic has taught us that we must believe more and more in our territory, investing to make it attractive to all Veronese and tourists, who are returning in droves to Verona. – he concluded Zavarise – This linked to the Adige is only the first of some projects that we have in mind for the city and its residents and which we will go to in the next few days ».
