Youngsters convinced at the Kidsliga in Chur – Liechtenstein
CHUR – The youngest swimmers in the association training groups took part in the third and final round of the Kidsliga in the 2021/22 season in Chur.
In this competition for 8, 9 and 10-year-olds, all children complete three individual starts and, if possible, one relay start at the end. In the relays, cross-club teams were also allowed to be formed.
Benjamin Neidow with three wins
The most successful participant for the Liechtenstein swimming community was Benjamin Neidow (born 2012), who led the competition of his age group at each of his starts (25 m back kick, 100 m individual medley and 200 m freestyle). Julian Wang (2014) also achieved three podium finishes, finishing first in the 25m breaststroke, second in the 25m back kick and third in the 50m freestyle. Jacob Brunhart (2014) was the fastest of his year in the 50m freestyle and was second in the 25m back kick.
In addition, the relay with Anna Sophia Hasler, Sarah Köppel, Clarissa Petzold and Benjamin Neidow achieved third place in the 4×50 m freestyle.
Overall, the young team swam a record time rate of 126 percent, which is better than all other teams. Success is nicer, even if the competitions in the Kidsliga are not only about speed swimming, but also about demonstrating important technical elements such as the start, underwater phases, turns, leg kicks, etc.
