Munich (dpa / lby) – The wage dispute in the Bavarian brewing industry has been settled. In the arbitration, the union Food-Genuss-Gaststätten (NGG) and the employers on Saturday on a new collective agreement, as the NGG announced. Accordingly, wages are to increase by 3.6 percent retroactively to March 1, 2022. In addition, holiday pay and training allowance will increase. The collective agreement has a term of 12 months until February 28, 2023.
The NGG had previously announced nationwide strikes in the coming weeks if there was no agreement. Since Friday morning, the President of the State Labor Court, Harald Wanhöfer, has been trying to find a compromise between the NGG and the Bavarian Brewery Collective Bargaining Association in Fürstenfeldbruck. According to NGG, the arbitration lasted until Saturday.
The positions are far apart: the union demanded a wage increase of 6.7 percent for the approximately 10,000 brewers with a contract period of twelve months. In the second round of negotiations, the employers had offered an increase in monthly wages by 100 euros. This corresponds to a wage increase of 2.7 percent for a skilled worker in the lowest wage group.
