Pity! Cologne coach no longer wants to go online with home videos

Man, how the football fans laughed when they saw the video of Effzeh coach Steffen Baumgart. During his compulsory Corona break in February, his daughter shared a video of him. To see: A highly emotional home office trainer in front of the TV during a Cologne game. The clip goes viral but remains a one-hit wonder.
Roaring Rumpelstiltskin?
Bundesliga trainer Steffen Baumgart doesn’t want to give in again for a home video as Rumpelstiltskin roaring in front of his own television. “I didn’t ban the video from going online. But I’ve already made the decision that I don’t want to see anything like this on the internet again,” said the 1. FC Köln coach to “Spiegel”.
“These are emotions that I lived out in the situation. I don’t think that’s dramatic,” said the 50-year-old. Baumgart denied that he deliberately wanted to promote his image with the video.
The former Bundesliga professional is annoyed by football talk shows on TV. “I don’t learn anything there. And I wouldn’t sit in front of a camera and talk about colleagues and footballers as if I knew everything better,” said Baumgart. He finds it problematic that many people debate decisions that have already been made, but few would dare to make decisions.
Baumgart shaped 1. FC Köln into a European contender this season. In the previous year, Cologne had only escaped relegation to the 2nd division in the relegation. (dpa/sid)
