Lindau is a stronghold for cabaret and cabaret for a week. Well-known satirists appear almost every day in the Stadttheater, on the Casinobühne and in the Zeughaus. The cabaret festival begins this Sunday, May 15th, with a performance by Matthias Egersdörfer. At the festival finale next Saturday, the Bavarian cabaret artist Luise Kinseher will be presented with one of the most prestigious prizes in this genre: the Salzburg bull.

Luise Kinseher, who comes from Lower Bavaria and is in Munich lives, made a name. For eight years, as the first and so far only Lenten preacher, she read the riot act to German political prominence at the Nockherberg in Munich, with a strong opinion and from a female perspective. The 53-year-old has conquered a male bastion. On Saturday, May 21 (8 p.m.), she will be awarded the “Salzburg Bull” at the Lindau City Theater. It is endowed with 6000 euros.
Hannes Ringlstetter moderates the award ceremony to Luise Kinseher. And that’s not all
The prize was first awarded in 1982 – initially always in Salzburg. In the mid-1990s he traveled: to the listeners of the radio stations involved in the award process in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol. In addition to Kinseher, cabaret artists from other countries and regions are also recognized in the theatre. The Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation is the lead organizer for the Salzburg Bull 2022.
Already on Friday, May 20th (8 p.m.), the festivities will be opened with a cabaret gala in the Stadttheater Lindau – but it is sold out. Both it and the award winners’ evening will be moderated by Hannes Ringlstetter, who will also perform with his band. On both days from 5 p.m. you can meet former and current award winners at the Lindau seaport. A “bull lounge” will be set up there, in which discussions and interviews will take place.
Cabaret fans can not only be there live at the opening gala and the award winners’ evening. The Lindauer Kulturamt has organized a whole week of festivals – which also includes music.
