The starting point for the possibility of obtaining an additional website of the Museum in Krakow – a collection for which painting art. Surveillance inspection, which has no value, monitors surveillance for quality control, but collects information on the evaluation of value and its use – says Dominik Kuryłek, inspection of the MuFo Photography and Photography Technology Department and chief curator.
What does the picture do? looking at the record of history, art, family media, material object, image of it and how in a specific era and era of true stories … Speaking in the context of an introduction – to display a story about how the user was a user and how it changes to a human. At MuFo, you can expect what the next cameras looked like, what chemicals were used to develop the photos, and also what topics were most often photographed or a wedding conference was conceivable. So that, with this ambitious task, the curators would choose about 1000 of them from the collection of the Museum of Photography, in original ones – over 600 in original ones.
This exhibition of the exhibition was decided by the Warsaw architectural studio JAZ + Architekci, selected in a competition that will take place at the beginning of 2020. – We wanted the exhibition to harmonize with the interiors of the former Armory, at the same time calling for radio equipment. That is why we reached out by making materials and materials other than those that became art museums. The shape of the display cases refers to laboratories, installations of various light sources, and the interactive elements are mechanical. We decided to bring out these solutions using the following materials: sheet metal, colored fabric, plastic. We wanted a whole that would create conditions for our viewers to discover and experience for themselves. – says Blanka Jarębska from the JAZ + Architekci studio.
On What does the picture take? consists of, titled Technology, Photographers, Photographed, Future, which you want to introduce into five parts, not linear, but problematically. We would like these five parts to present five, a greeting, a greeting and a greeting to submit questions. – recalled Dominik Kurłek – With the help he hopes that perspectives encourage this page to design in order to see, in the detail of looking at the aspect, awareness of its material dimension. That is why we tried to check about the exhibition not as unique stories about photography, but rather as a set of tools that made it easier for viewers to browse in the real world.
What does the picture do? it is a heterogeneous exhibition that takes place beyond the usual divisions into disciplines. Apart from nineteenth-century family portraits that can be admired, one should avoid positions from many different sides (the so-called traveler’s album, full of photos from Japan, full of centuries of reviews here in the photos of contemporary artists, and PRL reportages compete with the monumental presentation of several hundred cameras for attention. Thanks to this, next to each other, they grew and became subsequent photos.
The exhibition also includes photos of the patron of the Museum of Photography in Krakow, Walery Rzewuski, his predecessors and successors among Krakow photographers. There will be references to the beginnings of artistic photography in Poland, i.e. the photography of Jan Bułhak. There are also images captured by amateur photographer Klementyna Zubrzycka-Bączkowska (the author of a collection of photographs called “the treasure from Limanowa”) and by unknown photographers and photographers. We will present photos of the classics of Polish post-war photography – Jerzy Lewczyński, Zofia Rydet and Zygmunt Rytka; and contemporary Kuśmirowska, such as: Robert Orłowska, Anna Grzeszykowska or Rafał Milach.
