CBC wins in Poitiers (81-83) and qualifies for the Playoff semi-finals
Caen Basket Calvados managed to bring down Poitiers (81-83) in their hall this Friday after a tactically controlled match. Throughout the meeting, the Caen basketball players were able to stay in contact with the locals in a suffocating and overheated atmosphere.
“You have to admit that this game was a fight, recognized CBC coach Fabrice Courcier leaving the locker room. It was a very good team from Poitiers and it was a supportive and opportunistic team from Caen. We wanted to stay in contact as long as possible and take advantage of the last three to four minutes to take an advantage.”
The plan was skillfully applied by its players. Throughout the match, the teams returned the blows and except for a 12-0 conceded in the first quarter time, never the men of Fabrice Courcier let Poitiers ignite.
A succession of four three-point baskets in the last quarter put Poitiers in the lead.
With this second success, the CBC offered its ticket to the semi-finals by avoiding having to physically draw in a support match. He will face La Rochelle on Friday May 20 in the first match at the Palais des Sports in Caen
