Cases surpassed in Portugal four out of millions of infection

Portugal has exceeded four million confirmed cases of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus since the beginning of covid-19, a pandemic, according to data released this Thursday by the World Health Organization (WHO).
According to the figures updated on Thursday by the WHO, the country is familiar with 4,015,440 cases of infection with the virus that caused covid-19 and a total of 22,528 deaths since the first positive diagnoses were confirmed on March 2, 2020. .
According to data from the Directorate-General for Health, on Wednesday, 24,866 new cases of infection and 25 deaths from covid-19 were registered in the country.
It took 17 months of precision for Portugal to have around one million positive cases, which happened in 14 months of August 2021.
It took the country just about five months to go from one to two million people infected, a mark that was reached by a part as early as January 19, with an Ómicron variant being responsible for significant infections.
From January 19 to February 10 – in just 22 days -, Portugal once again had one million cases of infection with the coronavirus that causes covid-19, now reaching four million in a period of three months.
