Athletics, Francesco Sansovini sets the new San Marino record in the 100 meters
Great performance by Francesco Sansovini, the 22-year-old sprinter from San Marino set the new San Marino record of 100 meters at the Rome “Sprint Festival” meeting in the Stadio dei Marmi.
His 10.56 improves the previous record by 4 cents. Sansovini’s time is of an absolute level, given that it is one of the best annual performances in his category.
No San Marino athlete had ever crossed the barrier of 10.60, and so Francesco has achieved something extraordinary and beatable (for now) only from himself: in recent months he has achieved a real escalation, passing from the final to the Italian Indoor to the best performance of category a serious candidate for the title at the next Small States Games on 100m, which will be played in Malta next year.
Sansovini was born in San Marino and runs for Olimpus Atletica, coached by the coach Dan Mitirica, becomes the best San Marino sprinter of any era, thus entering the history of athletics in the Republic of San Marino.
Track and field records are one of the aspects of sports competitions that attract the attention of sportsmen most. The search for the record is already a fascinating appointment for the athlete, and if the record is the best national performance ever it is a rare and very engaging event.
The achievement of records in athletics requires a lot of passion, above all sacrifice and the approach to the work of a staff with method and organization. The optimal organization of the technical staff, based on a precise working method, on innovation and continuous updating, combined with an optimal organization of the quality of the company, to work with professionalism determining fundamental repercussions in terms of sports performance.
