Cornelia Jakobs is Sweden’s contribution to Eurovision 2022, and she will perform the song ‘Hold Me Closer’.
Italy and the other Big 5 countries (Germany, France, Spain and Great Britain) are pre-qualified for the grand final, while the rest of the countries – such as Sweden – have been awarded one of the two semi-finals.
A total of 25 countries will advance to the grand final – 10 from the first semi-final, 10 from the second semi-final and the five major countries.
If Jakobs advances to the grand final, she will perform live Saturday, May 14, 2022 in the city of Turin in Italy. Italy won the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 last year with its act Moonlight, which is why they are hosting the event this year.

Cornelia Jakobs will represent Sweden in Eurovision 2022 and perform her song ‘Hold Me Closer’. Jakobs is the daughter of Jakob Samuel, singer in the glam metal band The Poodles, and only got attention after participating in Swedish Idol 2008.
In 2020, she composed and performed the song ‘Weight of the World’ which became the soundtrack to the HBO Nordic series Björnstad.

Sweden’s contribution Tusse, who sang ‘Voices’, came 14th with 109 points. Sweden has won Eurovision six times in total since making its debut in 1958, best known by ABBA who won with “Waterloo” in 1984.
Sweden’s contribution has reached all finals except 2010, when the country did not qualify.
