The Minister of Food of the Federal Republic of Germany spoke in support of the values for which Ukraine is fighting
The Minister of Industry and Agriculture of the Federal Republic Ni Jem Ozdemir stated his support for the values for which Ukraine is fighting.
He said this at a meeting with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky, Ukrinform reports with reference to Government portal.
“The world community is on the side of Ukraine, and it is a struggle for common values that profess Ukraine and Europe. We unequivocally support Ukraine. You and your country deserve our solidarity and support, “Ozdemir said.
The Ministers of Industry and Agriculture of Germany also express their intention to open a representative office of the Ministry in Ukraine.
In turn, Solsky thanked the German government and all Germans who support Ukraine.
“It is easier for us to end this war when there is support. Ukrainian farmers need to work in such conditions, and they work despite the war, “he said.
According to the Ukrainian minister, the biggest problem is the blocked supply of grain exports.
“As the main export ports are the Black Sea ports, which are currently blocked, Ukraine is developing logistics and, as far as possible, exporting agricultural products by rail and through Danube ports. About 1 million tons of grain were exported in April. With this amount, we need several years to sell Ukrainian grain, “said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture.
He added that Ukraine is looking for a way out of the situation and Europe’s support in this matter.
At the invitation of the Minister of Food and Agriculture of Germany, Solsky is on a working visit to Stuttgart, where he will hold bilateral meetings with participants of the Conference of Ministers of Agriculture of the Group of Seven. At the G7 meeting in Stuttgart on 13-14 May, ministers discuss aspects of the agricultural and food sectors and Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
