San Marino. Tourism, Pedini Amati: “A short-sighted vision from USOT”
“The declarations issued by USOT in which opposition is expressed about the hope that new accommodation facilities can be built are not a little surprised”.
Thus began the intervention of State Secretary for Tourism, Federico Pedini Amati, in response to the recent intervention by USOT. “The interest of any trade association, in fact, however biased and sectoral, should still be able to take into account the more general interest that binds all the economic operators together. The effort produced in the last ten years by the various government bodies, as well as that of the public administration, the supervisory authorities and the professional associations, is oriented towards the positive transformation of the economic system and its harmonization in the international context, precisely with the objective of being able to attract, in the absence of which the country will continue to screw on itself investments.
The entry of any new entrepreneurs does not in any way preclude the possibility of the existence of those already present in the area, on the contrary, it represents a stimulus and a possibility capable of acting as an economic multiplier.
In any case, it should be noted that the San Marino legal system is already equipped with a series of regulations to support the development of reinvested profits and the tools for redevelopment interventions. Tools that can be strengthened but which are in any case available to all economic operators. The statements of the USOT would therefore seem to be guided by the possibility of losing the annuity positions created over time. This short-sighted and contrary view is considered a real possibility of development. The USOT is therefore considered to be in an open and constructive confrontation, and to put its experience, which is considered precious, to full capacity, in order to make the tourism sector grow together with all those involved “.
