Orion involves 2200 soldiers and 346 vehicles in Portugal

In Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which binds the parties involved, it can be read that “an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America will be considered an attack in North America, and, consequently, agree that, if such an attack occurs, each, in the exercise of the right of defence, individual or collective, recognized by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked, exercising without delay, region, chosen employment, and in agreement with the remaining parties, such action as deemed necessary, including armed force, to restore and secure the security of the North Atlantic”.
Present at the exercise, to whom he thanked the “effort for the success of the exercise”, with the participants being the Chief of Staff of the Army, having the successor of the Chief of State as well, which was well executed, which must be improved and which was an innovation, and also highlighted the “contribution of Orion 22 to the reinforcement of interoperability and integration of land military capabilities within the countries of the Atlantic Alliance”.
In this exercise, children train fire, as high-intensity conflict forces, oriented towards integrated and synchronized training of combat functions, namely Mission Command, and Maneuver, Information, Protection and Support Services.
ORION 22 O aims to stimulate the Army Force Collective english for “Army Force Exercise” english for “Professional Reaction Brigade to operate in combat” multinational environment”, like the typical missions of the Atlantic Alliance, of which Portugal is the founding country .
In addition to the Portuguese Army, soldiers from Spain (from the Extremadura XI Brigade), from France (126th Infantry Regiment, from the 9th Marine Infantry Brigade), from Romania (22nd Infantry Battalion, from the Southeast Multinational) and the Portuguese Air Force.
