Now away in Tyrol: see Schwaz on Friday, April 13.
When’s the first spot on Schwaz’ clean slate, can we administer it? We couldn’t avert a perfect first half of the season for the Silberstadt team, but there were hopeful signs despite everything and, as a blatant underdog, things worked out quite well in Schwaz even in the darkest of times.
After all, a 1:1 jumped out a good five years ago on the green of the Schwaz sports facility, when a badly battered, very insecure Austria, looking deep in the eye of relegation, had to go to lively, snappy Schwazern. It was game one under interim coach Atilla Piskin, who had replaced Didi Emich after his second Austria era and coached until the bitter end of the season.
We are not worried about relegation this time, but the starting position is unfortunately strikingly similar to that of spring 2017. In view of the shape curve, the Tyroleans expect us to be the clear outsider again, but we shouldn’t underestimate our team as a result.
Point gain – better now than ever!
It will continue to be difficult, especially in this round. The omens around the long list of cases remain on it, are not preserved at all. The shortcomings of the last few weeks, at the same time the adjustment screws for improvements, were obvious: With better exploitation of chances and the avoidance of individual mistakes, the situation would certainly be better than it is at the moment.
It is now a matter of getting rid of this subjunctive with a suitable reaction, because excuses – even if they were never sought – are now de facto no longer available. The better playing rhythm of the Tyrolean and Vorarlberg clubs, which had completed the last days of the regular season before the start of this series, may have played a direct role. But in the meantime, St. Johann has also got going, they won 6:1 in Dornbirn – it was better to take it in Schwaz, because the Pongauer are our next opponents!
Let’s force the unexpected
We can’t expect anything at all against SC Schwaz, who turned 100 last year and who, like last Saturday, will meet us with their anniversary jerseys – this time with the blue ones. You might be more likely to force it, especially with the passion of many accompanying and decisive, rousing fans in the guest sector.
A Friday in Schwaz that we can really look forward to: As in Telfs, we can expect extremely fair, committed sports comrades, as can also be seen from the most recent meeting in Salzburg. And maybe we’ll manage to transfer the principle of a small attraction in the Schwaz district to the lawn in the silver town: If in little Terfens a whole house is upside down, why shouldn’t the league be upside down for 90 minutes a good three kilometers away?! Kick-off in the Silberstadt Arena is at 7:30 p.m.
Match live on Krone.tv
Austria’s guest performance in Tyrol is also of national interest and we are therefore on Krone.TV transfer. The broadcast from Schwaz begins at 7:30 p.m., with Marco Cornelius commentating on the game.
