Marquês Marialva wins in Portugal and Spain. Let’s toast? – News from Coimbra
In the two most important international wine competitions in Portugal and Spain, respectively the Wines of Portugal Competition and the International Vinos Bacchus Competition, the “Best Sparkling Wine” in both categories was Marquês Marialva Cuvée Primitivo 2014 Brut Nature from Adega de Cantanhede. A sparkling wine produced by the Classic Method and made exclusively from the Arinto variety, with more than 60 months of aging in a cave, which has not ceased to be an important or demanding palate for the international Jury of both competitions.
Confirming this recognition, in the Bacchus International Wine Competition, this sparkling wine was awarded the Grande Ouro Medal and the Bacchus and VINOFED Awards for “Best Sparkling Wine”, and in the Wines of Portugal Competition it received a Gold Medal and the Best Sparkling Wine Award. In these two certains, the Adega de Cantanhede a third of its total achievements was added to 20 medals – four Great Gold, nine and five Silver – of which in Baco, representing one of the Portuguese wines awarded in this contest.
Two fundamental factors contribute to these results: the quality of the grape produced by the Adega de Cantanhede Associates and the mastery of its Chief Enologist, Osvaldo Amado, who, for the excellence of the results of his wines in the Bacchus contest, received the Best Wine Enologist Award. Quiet and sparkling wines from the event, guarantees the winery.
This recognition of the quality of sparkling wines from Adega de Cantanhede thus lives up to the award for Best Sparkling Wine Producer that was awarded to him last March by Revista Paixão pelo Vinho, concludes the producer.
