Eurovision’s semi-final result as Sweden and Poland live up to the predictions but Ireland crashes
So the line-up for this year’s Eurovision final is now complete after 10 countries made it through Thursday’s second semi-final in Turin, but Ireland was not one of them.
Eurovision semi-final 2 was always considered the stronger of the two and after Tuesday’s first heat, well-thought-out acts such as Poland’s Ochman and Swedish Cornelia Jakobs were in action and competed for a place in Saturday’s final. We also had Serbia’s contribution Konstrakta who sang about Meghan Markle and Ireland’s Brooke Scullion, a former contestant on The Voice UK.
Britain’s Sam Ryder was an automatic qualifier for the final, where the country was one of the “big five”, with other acts that have already gone through, including Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra and Norway’s Subwoolfer, the act surrounded by mystery about who they are under their costumes. .
