The women’s national authorities of Benfica were received, with the work this Thursday, by the mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, what a title and the importance of the work done by the people.

The presidents of the City Council, with all the technical team, the staff and the direction of Benfica, led by the president, were received by the president of the Lisbon City Council, Carlos Moedas.
In his speeches, Rui Costa recalled his recent presence at the reception of the European Youth League champions.

For the mayor, this is an important step towards the growth of women’s football in Portugal. “You are pioneers of responsibility and that’s having a huge one. You are the first of a generation that will change everything. You are taking football to another level. In a few years women’s football will be much bigger”, he asserted.
At the end of the speeches, the Benfica team offered a jersey signed by all the players and a silver replica of Estádio da Luz. In turn, the Lisbon City Council gave the entire entourage an image of Saint Anthony, patron saint of the city.
Sílvia Rebelo, captain of Benfica, did not take the national trophy, so she went to the balcony and showed it to fans who were not located abroad.
