Show for children ‘Giufà’ Events in Pisa
The show for children arrives at the Ariston Theater in San Giuliano TermeGiufa‘, on May 14 at 6.15 pm.
The show
Giufà is commissioned by his mother to sell a precious handmade canvas to someone of few words. Far from home, Giufà meets characters who try to steal the canvas from him by deception, animals that seem to predict his future, bewitching women, sailors who have come from far away. With folly and ingenuity our hero faces a stormy journey through distant lands like a young refugee thirsty for life. Finally he manages to mock death, which wants to take him away with him, pretending to be dead himself. His wandering ends, finally, a few steps from home where the long journey began.
The show deals with two themes that move in parallel; one concerns Giufà’s growth path, told through the light-hearted allegory of those who face a fundamental phase of development, that phase of transition as delicate as it is vital, in which one relates to the adult world, necessarily sensing its expectations and rules social, judgments and prejudices, lack of listening and sensitivity. The other theme is that of the journey, understood not only as a physical crossing path, but also as an interior journey.
