San Marino. Repubblica Futura: “With this government the moral drift of the nineties returns”
“The nineties have long since become the symbol of our country’s moral drift”.
Thus writes Repubblica Futura, who adds: “They were the years of the” cornerstones “, such as banking secrecy and anonymous companies, the years of tax evasion, money laundering, financial scams, of banks to friends of friends, of widespread impunity. At the same time, the clientele of the consensus worked at full capacity, putting in full hands clientelism with the informed in the PA, the ad personam resolutions, the speculations on the territory, the disbursement of easy credit today transformed into npl … L The political framework that supported this model was based on the governments of the Christian Democrats and the Socialist Party, with some minor variations ”.
The regime began to go into crisis, continues Repubblica Futura, “at the beginning of the 2000s, when the enormous resources to feed the overwhelming customers began to fail and when, following the attack of 11 September 2001 in New York, the world changed. The international community became increasingly intolerant of opaque state realities, incompatible with the fight against money laundering that fueled crime and terrorism. Yet, the Republic of San Marino ignored it until 2008, when the country came under investigation by the FATF following the clear violation of most of the international recommendations on money laundering of illicit origin. All this happened “when we were well”, as the characters of the second rows of a certain socialism recite today who were then only apprentices-apprentices of politics “.
The current government, dominated by the Christian Democrats – allied with an improvised conservative-pseudo-socialist-post-Bolshevik conglomerate, plus a group of beaten-up young people (but with the votes of which, unfortunately, the government was able to launch the worst projects) – made a dream come true. Not that of Martin Luther King, that of a return to the nineties ”.
And he adds: “Are there no more masses of money derived from an economy of freebooters? No problem, they run mountains of debt with no idea how to pay them back.
Have we tried for years to reduce the cost of public administration on a constantly red public budget? No problem, we proceed with many clientelist hires as in the good old days.
The Tribunal, Repubblica Futura, “continues to condemn some of the protagonists of corruption in the first instance? No problem, it becomes “chickpea land” (as Gabriele Gatti claimed) and all crimes are no longer such, or have become prescribed, and confiscations of money – even if confirmed – are in doubt due to the “founds” of current government, also with the collaboration of the new Guarantor Board appointed entirely by this majority, which overturned a consolidated jurisprudence on money laundering.
Had foreign policy been patiently rebuilt after years of isolation and black and gray lists? No problem, let’s mess up the renegotiation of the agreements with Italy, the association agreement with the EU, the Memorandum of Understanding with the Bank of Italy. On the other hand, we organize caravans for Dubai and announce yet another relaunch of negotiating across the board, negotiating dying since the beginning of the legislature.
The dream of one of the worst governments of the last few decades is turning into a nightmare for many San Marino citizens ”.
