Cologne: goose family plunges into rush hour
RTL>
Would you like to take the train? Two Canada geese got lost with their four cute little chicks at the Deutz train station in Cologne. As is well known, there is a lot of traffic there – but little water for the birds. The Cologne police also suddenly turned their hand into a friend and helper for the waddling family who went astray.
In the direction of the green area
From across the intersection, past the RTL broadcast center, befitting the company of a flashing police car. This time not with “caution accident” or “caution: traffic jam” on the blue light, but the lettering “caution: animals”. Destination: The Rheinpark.
There the police then left the Canada geese alone to die. The family waddled happily into the green area right by the water – apparently completely unimpressed by the exciting morning. All’s well that ends well.
Canada geese can weigh up to 6.5 kilograms
Canada geese have been represented in Germany since the 1970s. It is the world’s most common goose species and originally comes from North America. Canada geese have a wingspan of 160 to 175 centimeters and weigh between 3.5 and 6.5 kilograms.
They usually lay five to six eggs and incubate until early April. After 28 days, the little geese hatch. After 60 to 70 days, the little geese are then fledged. (aeon)
