VfB Stuttgart | Florian Müller in front of VfB Stuttgart-1.FC Cologne 2122
VfB secured a point last Sunday with a spirited performance against champions FC Bayern Munich. A point that gives the team with the chest ring the opportunity to jump to 15th place on the last day of the game and thus make it clear that they will remain in the league. “We are glad that we still have this chance. Things have looked worse for us in the past few months,” says Florian Müller. With a few saves last Sunday, the VfB goalkeeper made a significant contribution to the Cannstatt team scoring in Munich. “The team did a great job, which they also fought back in the second half,” says the 24-year-old, adding: “The point gives us a good feeling that we have to be able to get into the next game. We have to confirm the performance from Munich and not lose a percentage point.”
In the last home game of the regular season, VfB will host 1. FC Köln on Saturday (in the VfB live ticker). Kick-off is at 3:30 p.m. “It will be an intense game. Cologne have a good team and there is still something at stake for them,” says Florian Müller. But the goal of the goalkeeper and his teammates is clearly defined. “We’re just concentrating on ourselves and want to get the three points. If we can do that, we’ll see what they’ll do,” says Florian Müller. The 24-year-old also counts on the support of the fans in the game against Cologne. “The support in the past home and away games was outstanding. I think that will be topped again on Saturday.”
