Swimming meeting Innsbruck: East Tyrolean swimming talents won ten medals
Actually, it should have been a warmer start to the outdoor pool season for the athletes of the Swim Immunion Osttirol. However, the 8th International Innsbruck ARENA Swimming Meeting in the provincial capital was an endurance test for the young swimmers. Low temperatures and rain make the event challenging.
It is all the more remarkable that the local swimmers took home ten medals despite strong competition. 28 clubs from seven nations fought for precious metals in Innsbruck. Overall, the Osttirol swimming immunity ended up 15th overall in the club ranking.
gold, silver and bronze
The most successful athlete from a domestic point of view was Anna Nemmert. In the disciplines 50 meters backstroke, 50 meters butterfly and 200 meters butterfly, they each got the “golden”, a bronze medal in 100 meters freestyle was the culmination of their successful weekend. Julius Luneschnig secured a gold medal in the discipline 50 meters backstroke.
Jonas Gomille won two bronze medals in the 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke. Leoni Hauser, Theresa Riepler and Linda Beiten each secured a bronze medal.
