University of Lisbon to open a college in Shanghai | University education
The University of Lisbon will open a new faculty in the next academic year in China, in collaboration with the University of Shanghai, with degrees and masters in the field of engineering in September.
The new school was announced this Monday by the University of Lisbon, which, in a statement, explains that the project for the creation of the faculty at the University of Shanghai was approved in early May by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.
“The first courses are expected to start next September 2022, with student recruitment”, writes the international university, noting that this is “an important part of the institution’s international enrollment”.
For the first academic year, three degrees are already planned and three master’s degrees, in civil engineering, electrical engineering and environmental engineering.
The courses will be taught in English with Portuguese as a second language also in Portugal, it will be expected that students will attend part of the study cycle in Lisbon.
The collaboration between the universities of Lisbon and Shanghai is also reflected in the Shanghai faculty formed by a third of international professors from Lisbon, a third of professors from Shanghai and the rest recruited.
According to the University of Lisbonthe new faculty will have, during a first phase, 900 students.
