The Association of Hospitals of Slovakia is launching a campaign to support regional healthcare. He fears that the money will only go to Bratislava
The Association of Hospitals of Slovakia is launching the Help Your Hospital campaign, in which all citizens, with their support, will help regional hospitals obtain funds for their modernization. The Association of Hospitals of Slovakia (ANS) stated in a press release.
Concerns about money distribution
The ANS expressed concern that the money from the recovery plan for health care only in the capital, not in the regions most affected by the pandemic. The government is considering building the Rázsochy Hospital in Bratislava precisely from the funding of the recovery plan. The government committed itself to the construction of the hospital in its program statement and set aside funds from the state budget.
“If the drawing of funds from the recovery plan should be directed only to selected state hospitals, it is not only unfair and discriminatory, but it also realizes the time constraint of drawing on investments. The resources from the recovery plan are limited in time and everything needs to be achieved in four years, including the complete preparation, construction and reconstruction of hospitals, “ it is written in a press release.
According to the ANS, the current government plans to allocate almost all funds from the recovery plan for health care for the construction of a hospital in Bratislava, it is questionable whether regional hospitals will be able to apply for funding from the Recovery Plan.
Transparent rules for drawing investments
The ANS requires that the rules for drawing investments from the recovery plan be clearly, transparent and assessed in advance according to the readiness of the projects and in line with the optimization of the hospital network. It recommends that the Ministry of Health intensify its activities towards the preparation of calls so that the projects can be completed and Slovakia does not lose a billion euros for the construction and reconstruction of hospitals.
“Slovakia should invest in the modernization of the entire health care system. The challenges of the Recovery and Resilience Plan should be open to all healthcare providers, regardless of the type of ownership. The recovery plan can be a lifeline for the Slovak healthcare system only if the investments are redistributed fairly, according to the needs of the healthcare facilities. “ adds the association and everyone to stand up for “their” hospital and on Web page contributed to a reassessment of this discriminatory government decision.
