63-year-old is said to have murdered a severely disabled brother
Cologne A woman has cared for her severely disabled brother for years. But when the man was supposed to go to a nursing home, she is said to have insidiously murdered him with a drug cocktail in banana pulp. Now the woman is coming to court in Cologne.
A 63-year-old is on Monday (9.15 a.m.) before a jury at the Cologne district court for murder out of spite. The public prosecutor accuses the woman of having murdered her severely disabled brother.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the woman is said to have mixed a drug cocktail in banana pulp in September 2021 and given it to her brother. The 63-year-old is said to have tried to take his own life, but failed. The woman probably wanted to prevent her brother from being transferred to a nursing home, it said.
The defendant was her brother’s legal guardian for a long time. However, she should no longer have exercised this function at the time of the crime, as a court spokeswoman said. The process is scheduled for May 25 with seven days of negotiations.
